I'm back...

Hello friends,

Sorry I've been missing for over a week. Actually I wasn't missing, I knew where I was and it just wasn't here! ;-) I've missed it but I'm back with a card and three challenges met!

Here is the sketch I followed from this weeks challenge at Christian Paper Crafts, love Gloria's sketches!!! They are so adaptable to scrapbooking or cardmaking. Perfect for us crafters!

(CPC-ST50)

The color challenge is also from Christian Paper Crafts (CPC-CM48) which is any shade of green with brown and cream and white (optional). I loved this color combo!

The third challenge is from Our Daily Bread Designs. This is the Stamping in Time Assignment : The challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card. Choose any one color of choice along with any neutrals and go for it!

So here is my card that I made in a very clean and simple (CAS) style.

(SNTODBD6, CPC-CM48, CPC-ST50)

Here are my ingredients:

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like....

HELLO SPRING!
Yes indeedy, Spring weather has come to northern California! At least for the last two days... we'll see if it makes it through the first week in April. We are notorious for prolonging winter here, just when we've seen the last... bam! Here comes a cold front to make us pull out the heavy jacket, perhaps this year will be different!

So since we are "thinking" Spring here is a card I made for the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge. Here is the challenge requirements: This week the challenge team is challenging you to Think Spring and New Life- Since this is the first day of Spring, create something for spring using Spring colors, sentiments and images portraying New Life. (perfect time for an Easter Creation being that we are new creatures in Christ).

(ODBDSLC6)

What better verses than those in John chapter 3 that speak of being born again, new life spiritually! What a wonderful hope we have in Christ. He died so that we might have life through His resurrection.

Here is my ingredients to my card:
Stamp: ODBD, Confirmation & Baptism verses
Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle double-sided; Vellum (Paper Accents); card base is from DCWV;
Ink: Pallette, black
Embellishments: flower & button from Making Memories (I altered the flower by using Glimmer Mist, marshmallow and the button I colored with Copic YG67 and YG11 to get the color I wanted); adhesive pearls, Creative Charms
Tools: Border punch, Fiskars; Corner Rounder, EK Success; Butterfly punch, Marvy Uchida
Scissors, Cutterbee (to cut out half the large butterfly)

I'M SO EXCITED TO SHARE THAT I ALSO WON A SET OF STAMPS FROM OUR DAILY BREAD DESIGNS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THEIR BLOG HOP THIS WEEK!! I'm so thrilled, they have some wonderful stamps! Not only are they excellent quality but I love the fact that they are Christian-based and perfect for sharing an encouraging word or expressing our faith. Thank you Kelley!! Also I would encourage YOU ALL to check out their design teams work. Each one is incredible! Definitely the WOW factor!

A card and an update and an ODBD blog hop

Another week, speeding by....

Yes, I have been a bit MIA!! Getting tax stuff ready for the accountant! Blaaahhh!! But hooray, it's done, I can breathe again! It's even done before April 1st, whoo-hoo!! Trusting the Lord that it will be good news when the accountant calls.

So here is what else is going on in my life: (better grab a cup of coffee or some tea)

I've been enjoying our Beth Moore Daniel Bible study we've been doing on Wednesday mornings! What a wonderful study (the homework is incredible, too!) My dh has taught this so it's not new to me but she does an excellent job communicating God's truths to us women, doesn't she?! I'm looking forward to her Simulcast coming up next month that the Nazarene Church is hosting in Eureka. I'm also facilitating (or moderating) The Love Dare Bible study a group of us ladies are participating in it at Christian Paper Crafts. This is a private study so unless you signed up for it you won't be able to comment or join in. It's been a real blessing to get to know the ladies and have a safe place to share our hearts with one another. I believe God is doing a real work in our lives and strengthening the marriages involved. Next up is the Gospel of John study that will be posted at CPC late Sunday night we are in chapter 6, I'm learning so much as I study and prepare for each weeks lessson, I appreciate all the prayer I can get on this, sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming but I am so grateful for the prayer support I've received and the strength the Lord has given me to get these things done each week. I absolutely could not do it without the Lords help and the covering of prayer I receive. Thank you ladies!!! You know who you are :-)

I do have a card to post that I did last week for last weeks challenges but was to overwhelmed with stuff to get it posted. Here it is: Don't tell my daughter, it's for her birthday (shhhh!) I don't have to worry about her seeing it here she doesn't have time for the computer with a 3 year old, a 9month old, plus working 3 days a week.

Christian Paper Crafts Sketch Tuesday (CPC-ST47) from LAST WEEK (I'm bad!) Thanks Gloria for an awesome sketch. Our color challenge CPC-CM47 is yellow, pink and cream or white. Thanks Jen! Sorry for the late posting. Here is my card:

CPC-ST47 AND CPC-CM47

Here is a pic of the "pleated" ribbon I did. That took a bit of time. Here's how I did it. First I measured one inch intervals and marked with a pencil. After doing that for the length of the ribbon I then folded the ribbon to the mark I made and just repeated but first I stitched it down (by hand, the button is hiding the stitch) then I attached the ribbon to the paper with Zots and the buttons, too. It wasn't hard, but a bit time consuming, is there an easier way? Let me know! I still don't have the sewing machine up and running or else I would have machine basted it. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and the cardstock is from Paper Accents. I used a stamp fr0m an Autumn Leaves set and the ink is Archival (coffee). I added a little more color with my Copic R32 and the center of the flower with Smooch pearlized accent paint. The pink pearls from Creative Charms I customized using my Copic R32 and the border punch and corner rounder is from EK Success. One last thing I did was use Distress Ink, antique linen to distress the edges of the pink cardstock with the sentiment. (Ribbon from Michaels and the buttons from Making Memories)

I didn't mean to get so wordy!! You'd think I was writing a book for cryin' out loud!! Well it is now 11:55 pm (pacific time) and I've got grandbabies coming over early in the morning so I'd best get myself to bed. I'm going to try and coordinate nap times so that I can sneak into my craft room (across the hall from the nappers!) and create something with this weeks challenges at Christian Paper Crafts. You might want to check out the Our Daily Bread Blog Hop they are celebrating their 2nd Anniversary. Talk about some gorgeous creations, oh my goodness!! You really don't want to miss this so head over there. Ok this time I mean it.... good night!!!

My First Copic Colored Card!

It's been a week since I've posted a card but I wanted to share my very first card I've done using Copic Markers! I took a class at Scrapper's Edge a couple of weeks ago and my collection of markers is quite small (eleven to be exact, counting the blending pen), that's how new I am!! I don't quite have the hang of it yet. But I'm practicing and learning by watching a lot of tutorials online.

But I just love this little summer image of Tilda (Magnolia), I've used My Minds Eye DP (Pretty Please) and Bazzill cardstock, Martha Stewart border punch (picket fence, which I laced with yellow ribbon) and I rounded each corner with my every trustworthy corner punch from EK Success. I paper pieced one of the yellow flowers and added a button. I also blended Antique Linen Distress ink around the white of the cardstock so it wouldn't be so stark white.
My second piece of MME DP I cut out with the Spellbinders,
Nestabilities Label One with my Cuttlebug

Copic Pens:B12,E00,E33,E37,YG11,YG67,R20,R29,R32,W1.
Prismacolor pencil, Deco Yellow

Here is the inside of the card and I used one of the diecuts from the MME (Pretty Please) and the stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. I used Archival (coffee) ink.

So all of you Copic experts don't be too hard on me!! This is my first completed image I've put together for a card! I've been practicing a bit and not to make excuses (as I make an excuse... lol) I only have 11 markers, for crying out loud!!

Check back and I hope to have this weeks challenges from Christian Paper Crafts posted, I'm running just a few days behind!! oops!!

Well, thanks for looking!! Have a wonderful weekend!

One Card, Four Challenges! Wait a minute...it's Five Challenges!

Hello and welcome to Delightful Details!! I'm so blessed that you've stopped by to visit and I hope you are inspired at least a little bit!!
My card today fills a few challenges I'm pleased to say!! Of course I've got to get in the color and sketch challenge from Christian Paper Crafts!! I'll be sharing what the challenges are in a minute but I did want to share that this card was also inspired by the challenge over at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog, too! We were encouraged to pray and seek the Lord on whatever we created with this Scripture as our inspiration: Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Personally, I need the touch of the Holy Spirit daily to refresh me to walk in obedience so that my words and deeds will glorify the Father so I thought this stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs would be perfect to reflect that.
Here are the challenges from Christian Paper Crafts: Color Monday: You are my sunshine! COLORS: Yellow, white or cream, & one other color. When uploading to the CPC gallery, please use keyword CM46 and when uploading to your blog or other online galleries, please use keyword CPC-CM46. Fun colors, Jen!! Thanks!

Here is our fabulous Sketch Tuesday from Gloria and just a reminder when you upload on your blog to label/keyword with CPC-ST46

Just added: BIBLE VERSE THURSDAY Challenge: Use your favorite verse about "The Son" along with any project theme you like......OR use sunshine as your theme plus any verse you like. How easy is that?!When uploading to our gallery here at CPC, use the Keyword BVT44. If uploading to any additional online galleries, please use the Keyword CPC-BVT44. (Thanks Angella for a great pre-Spring challenge!!)

Our FUN ON FRIDAY Challenge: Since we are all so ready for spring, Cindy thought that it would be fun just to use flowers on our projects. It can be any kind of flowers, but you have to make them from a die-cut, hand-cut, etc. so when uploading on your blog or another online gallery don't forget to label with CPC-FOF43

Here is my card:

CPC-CM46, CPC-ST46, CPC-FOF43 and SSCC#28 and last but definitely not least CPC-BVT44

Close-up of the flower. I punched out the daisy twice and added the pearls to the center of the flower.

Recipe for my card:

Paper: Cardstock : Paper Accents; Designer Paper, Creative Imaginations (Cross); Fancy Pants & Basic Grey (these were scraps I used for the flowers and the matting of the Scripture stamp)
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs (Baptism & Confirmation verses)
Ink: Archival Ink, coffee
Embellishments: Creative Charms, pearls; Offray, ribbon
Tools: EK Success, corner rounder, daisy, 3/4" circle punches

I know I kind of strayed from the sketch but I was inspired by it! Gloria understands these things! And as we always remind each other: there are no challenge police on staff site!!

Thanks for looking!! Have a great weekend and be sure to check out both sites and leave an encouraging comment. God bless!

Happy Birthday to you....

Today we celebrated our grandson, Jakob's third birthday and since I took a gazillion pictures of the event, I will let the pictures tell the story! Of course I won't use even half of the gazillion, I promise!

Jake informed me that Costco doesn't do firetruck cakes...

This is Jake and his best bud, Garrison.

Fire Chief Jake blowing out his candles

Waiting patiently(?) to open gifts.

Poppa just as excited (or intense) as Jake. Of course Poppa knows that Spiderman is waiting inside that bag since he is the one who went shopping for his "boy!"

We had fun and I didn't have to cook or do dishes, whoo-hoo!!

(I love you Jakey, you are such a blessing to us and I can't believe how fast three years have flown by!!)
